Posta Rangers’ head coach Sammy “Pamzo” Omollo says he is thrilled with how his team has started their Kenya Premier League (KPL) campaign, describing their opening performances as a dream that sets the tone for the rest of the season.
Pamzo spoke after his side’s recent match, in which Rangers demonstrated grit, tactical discipline, and fighting spirit to edge past their opponents. The coach lauded the players’ resilience and readiness under pressure, noting that the early victories are more than mere results they reflect deeper preparation and mental strength.
“From day one, we told the boys we wanted to send a statement. This is not luck; this is hard work, unity, and belief,” Pamzo said. He credited the strong start to rigorous pre-season training, focused fitness work, and strategic planning behind game plans tailored for each opponent.
One of the turning points of the match, according to Pamzo, was the team’s ability to adapt mid-game. He pointed to substitutions that changed the tempo and defensive adjustments that held the opponent at bay during critical phases. “In those moments, we showed composure. We did not panic, we stuck to our game plan,” he remarked.

Pamzo also emphasized the influence of home support. Rangers have drawn notable backing from their fans in recent home fixtures, creating an energy the coach believes his team can carry into away matches. He urged supporters to keep turning up and making their voices heard.
Looking ahead, Rangers travel to Gusii Stadium for a high-stakes showdown against table leaders Shabana, a fixture that Pamzo says will be a true litmus test of their ambitions. “That match will tell us a lot about where we are, how far we’ve come, and where we need to improve,” he stated.
Despite the optimism, Pamzo remained grounded. He acknowledged that sustaining momentum is harder than starting well, especially in a league where consistency is seldom guaranteed. He warned players against complacency, stressing the importance of humility, preparation, and avoiding injury setbacks.
Off the pitch, Pamzo revealed behind-the-scenes work to build team cohesion. He described team bonding sessions, video reviews, tactical briefings, and fitness monitoring as essential components that have allowed his players to internalize the club’s expectations.

For the Rangers roster, experience and youth have blended well. Veteran players are helping anchor the team, while younger athletes are injecting energy and unpredictability. Pamzo expressed satisfaction at how well the mix is functioning.
Local commentators have noted that the strong start puts pressure on other KPL clubs. Rangers, traditionally seen as underdogs, are now being viewed as dark horses—teams to watch rather than those to overlook. The perception shift has heartened both the coach and players.
In the weeks to come, focus will shift to how Rangers respond in tougher away fixtures, maintain fitness levels across a long season, and sharpen their finishing in tight matches. But for now, the KPL campaign has begun in the most optimistic way possible for Pamzo and his men.
