President William Ruto has issued a strong call for national unity and collective support for recently elected leaders, framing the action as essential to his administration’s ambitious goal of transforming Kenya into a first-world economy.
Speaking during a service at AIC Milimani on Sunday, the President extended his congratulations to all winners of the latest by-elections, regardless of their political affiliation. He asserted that their victories were not arbitrary but were a reflection of the confidence Kenyans across the political spectrum have placed in them.
“I want to congratulate all of them from all political parties and formations,” President Ruto stated. “No leader is elected by default or by chance; it is God who determines leadership. Let us support them so we can move our country to the next level.”
The President specifically appealed to citizens to continue offering prayer and encouragement to the country’s leadership as they navigate what he described as “tough but surmountable” national challenges. He emphasized that the administration’s vision of a developed, first-world Kenya will only be achieved through committed governance and sustained investment in critical infrastructure.
Reflecting on his administration’s tenure, President Ruto expressed optimism about Kenya’s economic trajectory, noting perceived recovery and progress made over the past three years. “I have great confidence in the future of Kenya. I have seen what God can do. Three years ago we were struggling with the economy, health, education but God has healed our economy,” he said.

To underscore this progress, the President highlighted the recent commissioning of a 175-kilometre road project. He described the initiative as a significant milestone designed to unlock vast economic opportunities across nearly half of the country, linking infrastructural development directly to national prosperity.
“When I was launching the 175km road that will unlock the potential of half our country, I was very proud that God is opening spaces for Kenya,” he added. The call for unity follows a period of intense political contestation during the by-elections, with the ruling Kenya Kwanza coalition simultaneously celebrating its gains while the opposition prepares to challenge some of the results in court.
